First United Church of Christ invites the community to join in a reenactment of Jesus' journey into Jerusalem - complete with live donkey, palm fronds and shouts of Hosanna - at Burlington's historic Snake Alley. First UCC has commemorated the event with their annual "Donkey Walk" up Snake Alley for more than 40 years.
Participants are invited to line the route - from the bottom of Snake Alley to North Sixth Street, Court Street to North Seventh, then south on Seventh back to the church - waving palm fronds and shouting "Hosanna!" just as Jesus' followers did. Some palm fronds may be available but please bring your own if possible.
Everyone is welcome; Sunday School follows the Donkey Walk and Worship Service begins at 10:30 AM and all are welcome to join these activities as well.
